Profhilo & Skin Boosters

What is Profhilo®?

Profhilo® is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology.  The first of it’s kind, this unique hyaluronic acid injectable offers prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into the skin, Profhilo® activates skin cell receptors, stimulating production of collagen and elastin counteracting skin laxity and improving firmness.

With one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo® not only deeply hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment are the face and neck, but can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.

Prevention is better than cure.  Our skin loses 1% of it’s collagen stocks from the age of 25, this excludes extrinsic ageing factors such as UV damage, which can drastically accelerate this percentage. Profhilo is the perfect treatment to maintain and restore a glowing and youthful appearance.

How is a Profhilo® treatment performed?

Profhilo is injected into the skin using a needle and follows a BAP technique. 5 Bio-Aesthetic Points, on each side of the face, are treated. The treatment is relatively pain free bar feeling a slight scratch as the needle enters the skin.  The skin is always thoroughly cleansed and sterilised prior to treatment.

Following the treatment there may be some localised swelling and erythema (redness). This will calm quickly and there shouldn’t be any discomfort.

How many treatments are necessary?

Initially, two treatments are recommended, 4 weeks apart. In order to maintain results, a further treatment is recommended every 6-12 months.

Alternative Skin Booster

I also offer an alternative but very similar skin booster to Profhilo, by Seventy Hyal. Seventy Hyal is a highly regarded product also consisting of hyaluronic acid and the treatment is performed in exactly the same way as Profhilo

Aftercare

A cold pack may be used on the treated areas to calm inflammation.  Avoid physical strain or sporting activities fir 24 hours.  Avoid further cosmetic procedures or therapies for 14 days prior to and following treatment.  Avoid use of steam rooms, saunas, cold water therapy and UV radiation for two weeks following treatment.  Maintain good hydration of 1-2 litres of water daily.

Am I suitable for treatment?

Most people are suitable for this treatment, although it is not recommended for clients who have any of the following:

• Active acne
• Active infection
• Undergoing medical treatment
• Pregnancy.
• Autoimmune disease (Consultant letter required)
• Areas where long lasting filler has been used.
